Conquer the Kufstein Fortress

For over 800 years, the Kufstein Fortress has been visited by a wide array of people. In its early centuries, it was enemy armies that sought to conquer it. Nowadays, this impressive landmark enjoys great popularity among people from all around the world. Today, the Kufstein Fortress offers an exciting and varied program for guests of all ages. It features a modern visitor center, a panoramic lift, museum exhibitions, a fortress inn, a daily concert of the Heroes' Organ, and a free audio app. Guided tours are available at an additional cost.

Take the Kaiserlift to the top

Across Alpine Meadows. Between Tree Tops. Surrounded by the Tyrolean Mountainscape. From the nature-close fortress city, the Kaiserlift Kufstein offers a serene journey into the natural wonder of the Kaiser Mountains. Thirty minutes to disconnect, enjoy, and relax (with a transfer at the middle station). 750 meters above Kufstein, amidst the alpine world of the Kaiser Mountains, unfolds a unique hiking and excursion paradise for families and ambitious mountaineers alike. The nature reserve includes traditional huts, educational trails, and spots for awareness and scenic views. Free guided tours are available with advance registration included in the Card.

Foal farm Ebbs - World center for Haflinger horses

Foal farm Ebbs - World center for Haflinger horses

The Fohlenhof Ebbs, the oldest Haflinger stud farm in the world, is the most important international center for Haflinger breeding. The “Haflinger” has become a Tyrolean cultural icon and an ambassador of the region. More than 100 Tyrolian Haflingers, from mares with foals, and from young horses up to famous stallions await you in several stable buildings. You can watch the Tyrolean Haflingers in the open meadows daily on their threehectare paddocks. The foal area also includes a carriage exhibition in a modern design. In the summer season you can reserve guided tours (fee required) to the on-site stallion meadow (about 5.5 hours). In July and August there are weekly Haflinger Shows (60 minutes, fee required).

Riedel Manufactory - Sensefonie in a glass

Even today quality glass and decanters are still being individually hand-crafted by Riedel in Kufstein. By just looking at the elegant glass items you can’t appreciate how much difficult work is needed to create them. Visitors can see up close and personal here how a wine glass or a decanter is produced by specialist and proud craftsmen. The near 300-year history of glass production and the design revolution at their Kufstein office is presented under the title “Riedel Glass-making – Retrospective and Design Lab.” Group tours are available with a reservation.

Adventure mountain Oberaudorf - Hocheck

The cold season in Kufsteinerland also has something on offer for those who want to enjoy the winter away from the big slopes. After a short drive to neighboring Oberaudorf, you reach the adventure mountain Oberaudorf - Hocheck. Directly from the village center, the modern 4-seater chairlift goes up to Hocheck. There you will dive into a winter landscape with magnificent views of the Kaisergebirge. Every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday the adventure mountain is also illuminated in the evening. Enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains as well as the Inn Valley. By the way, the skiing area in Oberaudorf is completely geared towards families and provides a versatile skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing offer.
