Cross-border cross-country ski trail connection Thiersee - Bayrischzell
The cross-border trail leads over the original pass to Bavaria and forms the connection to a 62 km network of trails around the village of Bayrischzell. The project, which is funded by the INTERREG Bavaria - Austria programme, benefits all project partners equally. Thiersee, currently perceived more as a summer destination, has little winter infrastructure and due to the topographical conditions, the range of cross-country ski trails in the municipality is inadequate. However, Thiersee has many guest beds that could be better utilised due to the lack of winter infrastructure. Vice versa, Bayrischzell could also benefit enormously from better utilisation by Tyrolean guests.
